Silver is a very beautiful metal to work with. It is soft, easy to weave, and the end results are stunning! Our Silver jump rings are of very high quality. All rings are cut, washed, then tumbled to deburr and polish.

Sterling Silver is made from 92.5% silver. The only concern with Sterling is it tends to tarnish with age. It is slightly stronger in half hard form than FULL hard Fine Silver. We get many requests to carry Argentium Sterling - which is a BRAND NAME item that tarnishes a bit slower than normal Sterling. We are NOW USING Imperial Smeltings low tarnish sterling - which is similar to Argentium - just without the trademark, and is smelted here in CANADA!

Fine Silver is 99.9% Silver. It is BEAUTIFUL -- A whiter looking silver compared to Sterling. It also tends not to tarnish the way sterling does... It far more tarnish resistant than Sterling, it fuses beautifully, and has no fire scale with heated. It is a bit softer and slightly heavier than sterling, so that needs to be considered when planning a project. We currently have 6 sizes cut in Fine Silver, and we will decide on whether Fine silver will become a stock item in all sizes when we see how sales do here, and what you all think of it!

Our Silver rings are the highest quality cuts, and are all tumble polished and clean, ready to work with!

Advise for cleaning finished pieces? We re-tumble all our silver pieces in a rock tumbler with a dry tumbling medium, such as parboiled rice or walnut shell. If you don't have a rock tumbler, you can use a silver dip which cleans the tarnish off the metal in a few seconds!

Please note: Our 24 gauge Silver jump rings are hand snipped, not saw cut. They are simply too small for our current saw set up, causing messy jam ups. Also, saw cutting small rings can make the rings too small for use. For example, 24g 1/16" Sterling Silver jump rings will not work for the Byzantine chain weave if they are saw cut.

Please Note: Our Sterling Silver jump rings are sold in one quarter ounce (.25oz.) increments. To order by the ounce, please order in multiples of 4. (4 x .25 ounce = 1 ounce, 8 x .25 ounce = 2 ounces, etc...)
